BIF703: Redirection (Online Tutorial)

TITLE:

Week 6 Lab 1 Introduction to Redirection of STDIN, STDOUT & STDERR and experiment with foreground and background processes.

OBJECTIVE:

As a result of this lab the student should understand how to redirect Standard Input (STDIN), Standard Output (STDOUT) and Standard Error (STDERR) from various Linux commands.

This is an On-Line Lab, please log into your matrix account and on the command line type in:
/home/murray.saul/bif703/labs/bif703_w6_l1
then follow the instructions on the screen. You are required to answer and submit the review questions at the end of this lab to your BIF703 instructor.

(Note: This online tutorial works best with black text on a white background. With many telnet, SSH, or shell windows you can configure the foreground (text) colour and the background colour).
